Design Quality and Kerb Appeal

Cast stone details, such as porticos, string courses, quoins, window heads and cills, are a tried and tested solution for adding design quality and kerb appeal, which is why big house builders are putting their faith in the material. It’s also a firm favourite with self-builders, adding distinction out of all proportion to its cost.

A recent Ipsos MORI poll revealed a strong public preference for cast stone and that 79% of people would pay an average 4.9% extra for a new property with cast stone details compared to one without. That’s £9500 extra, based on the national average home price.

Cast stone details and ashlar walling are a firm favourite with developers, adding a distinctive touch to the external finish of new office and retail developments.
