The elevations of a seafront Burger King outlet at Bridlington, East Yorkshire, have been raised in bespoke cast stone from UKSCA member Haddonstone.
Close to several listed local landmarks, including the Old Floral Pavilion, the cast stone was chosen to meet planning requirements by blending with the appearance of nearby buildings and replicating the detailing. It was also chosen for its outstanding durability, including the ability to withstand salt-laden air from the North Sea and to provide a functional, clean appearance for the inner walls.
The bespoke TecStone wet-cast stone architectural masonry was detailed with standard cast stone elements including cornice, copings, cills and plinths. The stone was specified by local architects and surveyors WS Cook & Sons and the outlet was built by Rushton & Hotham of Filey for Harrison Leisure.
