Westbrook House, Ascot (2014)
Cast stone for luxury apartments
Classically designed and in a stunning setting Westbrook House has been built to the highest specification and features extensive use of wet-cast cast stone dressings, portico and ornamentation from UKCSA member Haddonstone .
Westbrook House is a new development of 14 spacious and elegant luxury apartments and penthouses, in a prestigious location adjacent to the Ascot Racecourse.
After initially being let down by a non-UKCSA cast stone manufacturer early in the project, the developer turned to the expertise and abilities of UKCSA member Haddonstone to help them seamlessly complete the work.
This gave Haddonstone severe time restraints for the supply of the required cast stone and the added challenge of matching the colour and texture of the initial cast stone items supplied, which entailed the use of special aggregates.
Cast Stone items supplied by Haddonstone included window surrounds, band courses, plinths, copings, and columns and entablature to the entrance portico. As a result of specific design requirements, many of the units supplied needed to be structural items.
To further enhance the property, the front drive features a pool and ornamental cast stone fountain from the Haddonstone standard range.
